Leaving, and taking your garden with you
Nothing charges you today. Paid plans open Jan 5, 2027, and canceling one will be a button in the app. Clearing your garden is a button too. Closing your account and getting a copy of your data are emails for now, because we haven't built those two buttons yet.
Canceling a paid plan
There's no way to pay for GardenTrack yet, so there's nothing to cancel. Paid plans open Jan 5, 2027. Once you've paid, Your account in the app shows Manage or cancel next to Billing.
That opens Stripe, who handle the card. Canceling, receipts and changing your card all happen there. When a paid plan ends, your account moves to GardenTrack Free, and the app keeps opening like always.
Clearing your garden: a button
In the app, under Your account, Restart my garden removes your plants, beds and journal. They go from this phone, your other devices and our copy. It's the right call at the end of a season, or when a first try got messier than you'd like.
It tells you what it's about to remove first, and you type “restart” to confirm. Pick Keep my location and your ZIP and frost dates stay, so you don't answer the setup questions again.
Closing your account: email us
There's no delete-my-account button yet. Email hello@gardentrack.app from the address you signed up with and say you want it gone. We remove the account and everything attached to it: garden, journal, photos, Talk chats and the email address itself.
A person does that by hand for now.
Getting a copy of your garden: email us too
There's no export button yet either. Email hello@gardentrack.app and ask. We'll put together everything we hold about you and send it.
What our analytics tool records about how the app gets used is on the privacy page, piece by piece.
What we can get back
Your garden lives on your phone so the app works without signal, and it backs up to your account whenever you're online. So a new phone pulls it back down when you sign in, and a lost one costs you the phone and not the garden.
The one thing that can go missing is a change you made offline on a phone that's gone before it got signal again.
The plant database is yours already
Separate thing, worth knowing: the crop and variety data behind the app, every plant and every source, is a free download under CC BY 4.0. Use it commercially, build on it, pass it on. Credit us and that's the whole license. Whatever you decide about your account, that part doesn't depend on us being here.
