Getting help
Two ways to reach us. If you are in the app and something is wrong on a screen, use the feedback box there — it sends what screen you were on, which saves a round of questions. For everything else, email hello@gardentrack.app. A person reads both. We are small, so we will not promise you a response time we cannot keep.
Something is wrong in the app
Use the feedback box inside the app. It travels with the screen you were on, the plant you were looking at and which version you are running — the three things we would otherwise have to ask you for. Talk or type; more than one problem at a time is fine and it is how most of them arrive.
It works offline too. What you write is kept and sent the next time you have signal, so there is no point in the day when reporting something is not worth it.
Anything else
Email hello@gardentrack.app. That is the address for a question about your account, a fact on the site you think is wrong, a request to delete your data, a licensing question about the plant database, or a question about growing something that our pages did not answer.
If you are reporting a problem, the fastest thing you can send is the specific. "The frost date is wrong for 37203" gets fixed; "the dates seem off" starts a conversation. What you typed, what you expected, and what appeared instead is plenty — a screenshot if it is a visual thing.
What we can help with today
- Getting into your account — if the sign-in code never arrives, or arrives after it has expired.
- Getting your data out, or deleted. Neither has a button yet, so both are things you ask us for and we do. How that works.
- A number on the site you believe is wrong. We would genuinely rather hear it. Most of our figures cite a named publication, and where one does not, the page says so — so a challenge is something we can go and check rather than argue about. We have corrected published numbers before and written up why.
- Something the app got wrong about your garden — a stage that fired at the wrong time, a job that made no sense, an answer that was confidently off.
What we cannot do
We cannot recover a garden that was never signed in. If you used the app signed out, everything lived in that browser on that device, and if it is cleared or the phone is gone, so is the garden — we never had a copy to give back. This is the honest cost of the app working without an account, and it is why the app offers to back it up.
We are not a substitute for a diagnosis you would trust a person with. If a plant matters — a tree with a disease, anything you intend to eat and are unsure about — your state's extension service will look at it, usually free, and they are the people our own pages cite.
Before you write
The help pages answer most of it, and each one is about a single thing the app does rather than a manual. Setting up your garden, backing it up, and where your plants live are the three people arrive on most.
