Favorites: the crops you starred
Live · This works today.
Favorites: star a crop or variety on its page; it goes on your Favorites list (menu) and the Garden Planner puts it into a plan first. Starring plants nothing. Unstar on the page or the list.
What it is
A list of the crops and varieties you want to use again or look at later. Nothing on it is in your garden — a star plants nothing — and nothing in your garden has to be on it. Open Favorites from the menu next to the leaf at the top right.
Starring
Every crop page has a star next to the name; tap it and the crop is on your list. Under the facts sits a Varieties section — every variety the catalog knows for that crop, with its days to maturity and a star of its own — and starred varieties float to the top of it. A filled star is yours; tap it again to take it off. It works offline and syncs like every other record.
The list
Newest first, each row the crop’s own art and name — the variety when you starred one — a door to the crop’s page, and the star to take it off. Empty until you star something; the page says where to.
In the Garden Planner
A plan puts your starred crops in first, ahead of the crops most people grow, among everything that can still finish in the window; a starred variety goes onto the planting when you tap Plan it. A star is a preference, not an override: a crop that can’t finish before your frost is never offered. Two starred crops of one family can share a bed in the same season, like tomato and pepper; a crop you didn’t star never goes in beside its own family.
Common questions
- How do I star a crop or a variety?
Tap the star on its page. Every crop page has a star next to the name, and a Varieties section with a star on each variety the catalog knows — starred varieties float to the top. A filled star is yours; tap it again to take it off. Starring writes nothing to your garden: no plant, no bed, no date. It works offline and syncs like everything else.
- Where do my favorites show up?
On Favorites, in the menu next to the leaf. Newest first, each with the crop’s own art, the variety when you starred one, a door to the crop’s page, and the star to take it off. And in the Garden Planner: a plan puts your starred crops in first, ahead of the crops most people grow.
- Does the Garden Planner use my favorites?
Yes — first. Every starred crop that can still finish in the window goes into the plan ahead of everything else; with a starred variety, Plan it writes that variety on the planting. The plan never offers a crop that can’t finish before your frost, starred or not — a star is a preference, not an override. Two starred crops of one family can share a bed in the same season, like tomato and pepper; a crop you didn’t star never goes in beside its own family.
